Pascuala Ilabaca, singer and accordionist, is a true hidden gem: One of the highlights in the new scene of young Chilean singer-songwriters.
Her music is rooted in traditional sounds, but integrates effortlessly jazz, pop and rock and influences gathered in places as distant as India or Mexico.
Accompanied by its formidable band Fauna, its unique stage presence evokes sweetness and empowerment at the same time, giving life to their songs with fragility and brio.
The band has been nominated for Best Artist 2016 in Songlines magazine along with Mariza, Seckou Keita and Lura.
They achieved 2 times (2013 & 2015) the Independent Music Awards (USA) with their last 2 works, and they were selected in March 2015 as Top of the World also in Songlines.
In 2016 Pascuala received the Pulsar prize for the Best Cantutora, the most important award in Chile, for his latest work Rey Loj.
Since 2011, when her first album was published, she has toured 15 tours in Europe performing more than 150 concerts.
In 2017 the first tour of the USA counted 12 concerts throughout the territory.
She currently performs in Festivals such Womad Chile and Womad UK, TFF Rudolstadt, Shambala, Fussion, London Jazz Festival, Les Escales, South Pyrenees, The Sea of Music, Globalquerque! Lotus Festival, Chico World Fest, etc, and Theaters like Berliner Philharmoniker or Drom in New York
